Saturday was Military Appreciation Day at the University of Idaho football game. We didn't go to the game, but we did stop by before the game to see the marching band and the army vehicles. Iain got to check out a HMMWV, and even got sit in the back seat.

Here's everyone looking up in the sky to see the....

... AH-64A Apache attack helicopter from the Idaho Army National Guard. It was the first time Iain saw a helicopter landing. He got to walk all around it, and even touch it. He liked seeing where one of the pilots left his flight helmet hanging in the cockpit. Neither pilot wore Coke-bottle glasses like Jeff Long. Go figure.

Here's Iain lecturing me on the subtleties of the 30mm chain gun. OK, maybe I exaggerate.

And finally, we saw one of the army's fiercest vehicles, the LMTV. OK, so maybe it's not that scary. Note that someone in the paint shop dubbed this vehicle "Death Turtle 2." Indeed.

What fun things for little (okay, and big) boys to see! What was Iain's favorite? Y'know, the name of the LMTV wouldn't be nearly as funny without the "2" on the end, hahahaha!
