Alaska

At long last...the pictures from my and Iain's trip to Alaska to visit Kathleen & Jess. We had a great time while we were there.

Iain found quite a few things to keep himself entertained.

He especially liked the pooping penguin toy...

...and the new set of golf clubs from Kathleen & Jess.

Did you know that a golf bag is also a lawn mower and vacuum cleaner?

Here's Iain swimming in Kathleen's jacuzzi. He really liked the bubbles.

He found a cow at the transportation museum...

...as well as a fork lift. He really liked *driving* the fork lift.

He helped Jess play cards. (By the way, Kennie and Jess won that game of pinochle, and I'm pretty sure it was because they had Iain helping them out).

Nothing like pumping a little iron while helping Jess with his cards.

We visited the Native Alaskan Heritage Center on the edge of Anchorage. Iain's favorite part was the dancing and singing. He sat on his chair and stayed there the entire half hour that they were performing--and that's saying a lot for a 2 year old.

We also visited the headquarters for the Iditarod.

He really liked the puppies.

We were able to take a ride in a cart pulled by a team of sled dogs. After it was done, Iain wanted to go again.

We also checked out the mining town at Hatcher pass.

Iain really liked the little mining train up at the top.

After all our running and climbing around we had a picnic.

We went to Friday Fling (Palmer's Farmers Market) where Iain enjoyed listening to the live music being played.

Iain helped Jess water the hanging flower baskets.

He went *swimming* a second time, this time with Riley and Dawson.

Here he his posing with Dolly the bison.

He got to feed reindeer at a reindeer farm. (Note: this sad looking reindeer was recently gelded, causing all the warts on his antlers. The surgical glove was there to keep that spot clean.)

Iain loved the mommy and baby reindeer. His words: "The momma was so, so big, and the babies where itty bitty."

He also got to feed a Rocky Mountain elk through the fence.
