Last week Iain and I decided to take a little drive out to Spring Valley and see what there was to see. And of course, once we got there, it was all about the water: throwing rocks in it, walking out on dock over it, and definitely wading in it.

Note to new parents: even if you don't think you're going to need a swim diaper, you might want to take one along when you're going to be around water. You'd be amazed at how much water a regular diaper will soak up.

And if going to Spring Valley wasn't enough, then we went to Hells Gate State Park over the weekend with my sister, Jennifer, and my friend, Melissa. This time it was all about the sand, the water, and (as Iain puts it) the "noisy" boats on the river.

Iain wasn't as interested in building sand castles as he was in filling the moat.

We played in the water a little bit, but it was way too cold to stay in for very long. Perhaps we'll have to return in August to see if it's warmed up any.

Before we left, Iain had to check out the pirate-themed playground.

Iain's the cutest moat filler I've ever seen :)
Yes, and darn good at it, too. We could be rich if it weren't for those blasted child-labor laws! ;o)
